Atbash Cipher Calculator

Type or paste any text below — it converts instantly with the Atbash cipher, the Hebrew letter-mirror technique where A↔Z, B↔Y and so on to the alphabet's centre. Atbash is symmetric: running the same text through twice returns the original, so this one box both encodes and decodes.

Atbash Output

Try it — type Babel to get Yzyvo, then paste Yzyvo back in to get Babel again — Atbash is its own inverse. Non-letter characters (spaces, punctuation, numbers) pass through unchanged. Note: the famous Jeremiah example (Sheshach for Babel) is Atbash applied to the original 22-letter Hebrew alphabet — this calculator uses the 26-letter Latin alphabet, so the exact transliterated letters differ even though the underlying technique is identical.
